Early Childhood Development Program (ECDP)

My name is Sandra Schuptar and I am the Head of Special Education Services at the Mount Ommaney ECDP.
Mount Ommaney Special School is host to the Mount Ommaney ECDP. Our education programs and services support children from birth to 5 years who have been identified with high support needs in one or more the following areas:
• Autism spectrum disorder
• Intellectual impairment
• Physical impairment
• Speech language impairment
• Visual impairment
• Hearing impairment
The Mount Ommaney ECDP is an Education Queensland facility that provides support to families in identifying areas of strength and needs of your child. We offer a range of education services and programs that aim to enhance your child’s development, well-being and community participation.
Our children are provided with high-quality early childhood intervention education programs that are run by qualified specialist teachers and supported by Educational Queensland therapists who have a wide breath of experience with young children with disabilities and developmental delay.
All children who access the ECDP will have an individualized program or service plan developed.  This plan is called the IEP (Individual Education Plan) and outlines the teaching focus and support that is provided for your child.
We develop a close working relationship with our families to ensure we meet children’s individual needs and support families in taking the lead in making decisions for their child and their family. We also work together with families and future schools to ensure a smooth transition for your child into full time education programs for their prep year.
The staff of Mount Ommaney ECDP extends a warm invitation to you and your family. Please feel free to contact me for further information regarding the suitability of our program for your child.
